Creative Coloring with Erum: Two Quick Cards with Antique Roses Stamp Set

Hi there everyone!

Today I have two quick cards to share with you featuring the gorgeous new layering stamp set called the Antique Roses Stamp Set.

For my first card, I started by scribbling Desert Night Watercolor Brush Marker onto heavy-weight watercolor cardstock.

Next, I generously spritz water onto the cardstock. And, I also used a water brush to help spread the color around. I dripped off all the excess watercolor onto the mat and used the heat gun to dry the panel. To add an extra effect, I used the leftover watercolor to add splatters with the help of a paintbrush. Again, I used a heat gun to dry this. Next, I used clean water to add tons of splatters which I then sopped up with a tissue paper. Once I was happy with the look, I used a heat gun to dry the panel again and then used white chalk paint to add more splatters.

Because I planned to use yellow flowers on my card, I thought it would look nice if I add yellow splatters too. So, I mixed a bit of yellow watercolor from the 36 Pan Watercolor Set with white chalk paint and added a few splatters of that to the blue watercolor panel. Next, I adhered my floral arrangement with foam tape.

Inks used:

  • Flowers: Buttercream, Warm Sunshine, Caramel Toffee, Paper Bag, and Espresso
  • Leaves: Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, and Evergreen

To finish, I popped my sentiment which is from the Sentiment Strips Stamp Set.

For the second card, I started by adding a light watercolor wash using Frayed Leaf and Bamboo watercolor from the 36 Pan Watercolor Set. I heat set this and through the Classy Stripes Stencil, I applied shabby shutters distress ink roughly. Once done, I added splatters of both Frayed Leaf and Bamboo watercolor.

To add interest, I added splatters of Evergreen Watercolor and then began arranging my flowers and leaves.

Inks Used:

  • Yellow flowers: Buttercream, Warm Sunshine, Caramel Toffee, Paper Bag, and Espresso
  • Red flowers: Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Grapevine, Vineyard Berry (I would suggest going for Jet Black instead of Vineyard Berry)

Once I was done, I popped up the sentiment with foam tape. Again, the sentiment is from the Sentiment Strips Stamp Set.

I hope you liked the cards. You can watch the video below or on YouTube.
