How to Create a Faux Fabric Paint Look on Your Cards | Creative Coloring with Erum

Hi everyone! Erum here today with another easy card to share where I created a faux fabric print look featuring the Leaf Clusters Stamp Set and Watercolor Brush Markers.

To begin, apply pigment directly onto the stamp using Emerald and Limeade Watercolor Brush Markers. Next, go over the watercolor cardstock with a water brush. Choose a textured watercolor cardstock or the textured side for this technique to work best. Make sure the panel is not too wet, use tissue paper to dab all over just to be on the safe side. Now stamp like you would normally do. Because of some moisture, the pigment will react and end up with a watercolor effect and because of the texture, there will be areas of missed stamping. That missed stamping is what will give the design a faux fabric or Batik printed look.

If you don't like a lot of white areas or missed stamping, you can use a water brush and go over the stamped image. The pigment will activate and cover the white areas. I would advise not to cover the entire image but just parts of the image through this method.

After the entire background stamping was done, I also added splatters of both shades to add to the artsy touch.

Once I was done with the panel, I moved on to the sentiment. For this, I colored a piece of watercolor cardstock with Emerald and Limeade Watercolor Brush Markers randomly. Then I die cut the word HEY out using Caps Bold Alphabet Die Set both in green and Gold Foil Cardstock.

I went over the letters with the Emerald Watercolor Brush Marker using dry brush technique to add a bit of color and texture and used the Gold Foil die-cuts as an offset.

To finish, I popped up an accompanying sentiment which I heat embossed in Antique Gold Embossing Powder on black cardstock.
