Two Cards Created with Die Cut Texture Technique

Hello friends, Norine back with you today, sharing a fun technique for getting more from your dies. Two things I love. Well, more than two, but when it comes to paper crafting two bigs ones are: I love to stretch my supplies in interesting ways and I love subtle texture.
For today's projects, I wanted to use a new “hello” die (which will be available in the Altenew store on April 16th) and the “hugs” word die from Script Words Die Set. It's a super simple technique, one that lets you share your brain with a podcast or an audiobook while also crossing Make A Card and Do Arms and Shoulders Workout off of your to-do list. The latter is accomplished by running a die through the die-cutting machine multiple times until you can cover an A2-sized card panel with the die-cut words.
Hello Card
For the card above, I die cut the word Hello 8 times from the prettiest shade of lavender cardstock called Winter Clouds, and I also cut an A2-sized card panel from the same cardstock and trimmed each side by 1/8″. I used some spray adhesive to adhere each of the words to the card panel allowing the words to hang off the edges and them trimming them with a pair of long-bladed scissors.
Once the card front was finished, I stamped the leaf image from the Wallpaper Art Stamp Set, onto vellum paper with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then, I die cut the image and adhered it to the die-cut-textured card front with tiny dots of liquid glue behind some of the leaves. After that, I stamped on gray card stock and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Halftone Hello Stamp Set. I mounted the sentiment strip with foam tape over top a twist of silver embroidery floss and added some silver gems to complete the card.
Hugs Card
I used a complementary, reverse color scheme for the 2nd card, die-cutting the word hugs, from white cardstock 8 times and spray adhering the die-cuts to the card panel and trimming the edge overhangs – all that I did for the first card. Never mind the tail of that “g” that has popped up. It's firmly stuck down now.
Next, I stamped the layers of the flower and leaves from the Build-A-Flower: Gardenia Stamp Set, in shades of Wisteria, Hydrangea and Ultraviolet inks for the flower and Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen inks for the leaves, masking the bloom to tuck the leaves in behind the flower petals. Once stamped, I hand cut the flower and adhered it to the card panel, letting the bloom hang off the edge to be trimmed.
The sentiment is from the Dotted Blooms Stamp Set, stamped on black cardstock, heat embossed with white embossing powder and popped up with foam tape for more dimension. Finally, a few simple sequins complete the card.
