May 2019 Inspiration Challenge
Hello, everyone! It's Aga here with the May 2019 Inspiration Challenge!
For this month's challenge, I chose a picture I took some time ago in a beautiful park and garden near my house. It’s one of my favorite places to go for a walk and a great place for reflection and quiet, away from the hustle and hurry of everyday life.
I love this beautiful single flower climbing a white wall, the light and all the shadows in the background, and here’s what I came up with using them as inspiration:
I started with Feathered Leaves Stencil and embossing paste to create a lovely, textured background on gray cardstock. While the paste was drying, I worked on the rest of the card. I stamped two flowers from Sweetest Peas Stamp Set with black ink, used Watercolor Brush Markers – Spring Garden Set to add color to them and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. The other leaf comes from Peony Dream 3D Die Set. I cut out two layers and again used Watercolor Brush Markers to do the coloring. As a final step, I used a small sponge to add a few dabs of Evergreen ink to the green elements.
To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Crafty Life Stamp Set and die cut it with its coordinating die. I popped it up with foam tape for a bit of dimension and it was done!
