Its never too early for Holiday Cards!
Even though it is still just end of Summer I am all itching to start creating Holiday projects and if you've visited my blog, Yana Smakula, over the pas few weeks you might have noticed I already have!
Today I'd like to share a Christmas card created following my “Perfect Carmaking Formula” – a beautiful gold die cut in the middle, complimented with flowers and leaves and of course a great sentiment.
To create this card I used Spicy Yogurt cardstock for my card base and adhered a Ringstone Medallion in gold in the center somewhat closer to the top.
Poinsettia is a beautiful Winter Flower and made the focal point of my project. I stamped it along with a few leaves using Permanent Black Ink and colored using watercolors. I opted for a rather messy and loose watercolor look.
My flower is dimensional and consist of two layers, the top layer is foam mounted over the base one for a pop of dimension.
I cut all of my images out using scissor and I cut them right up to the edge without any white border. For a bit of shine I used Mice spray and generously spritzed my images.
My cluster was adhered on the the gold medallion and I also stamped a few pine needles using Dark Chocolate ink; same color was used to stamp the sentiment.
The stamp sets I used for this project are Poinsettia & Pine and also Sketchy Landmarks.
