Valentine decor
Hi everyone!
Svitlana is here today sharing an idea of decor for Valentine day which is right around the corner.
I'm obsessed with apartment decor projects and always happy when can use my cardmaking supplies to make them.
The idea of this project came to my mind last year – to make a heart made of Altenew Vintage Roses. But I didn't have time to implement this idea and it was on my must do list since then.
It's pretty simple although a bit time consuming to make.
First I stamped and die-cut a lot of roses using Vintage Roses stamps set and coordinating Vintage Roses Dies set. I made roses of different sizes and shades using Cotton Candy, Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Ruby Red and Grapevine inks. Next I stamped and die-cut several leaves using stamps and dies from the same sets (stamped with Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen inks).
Found a frame in my stash that could fit for this project, being guided by it figured out the size of the heart and cut a heart from a piece of sturdy cardstock.
From that point I started adhering roses on the cut heart. Once I had the heart fully covered with roses – I tackled leaves here and there, in order to prevent my flowers to blend too much.
Next I added several roses which were adhered on craft foam die-cut, to add some dimension to that decor piece.
Finally I adhered roses heart to a piece of white cardstock cut to the frame size.
If you are not into home decor too much – you can implement this idea just for a simple card. You will just need a smaller heart and less roses.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend!
