Video: Watercolor Galaxy with Ramadan Greetings

Hello, friends!
Erum here with a non-floral card featuring the Ramadan Greetings Stamp Set.
Ramadan is upon us so I thought I'd whip up a quick (and easy to make multiples of) card to send to my Muslim friends. I decided to go with galaxy watercolor (partial) background because everyone loves galaxy backgrounds and they look SO gorgeous.
I used masking fluid around the circle so my watercolor won't seep through. After the masking fluid was dry, I applied water to the area and started dropping in light pigment. The intensity of my pigment will increase as I move forward. In order to understand this process better, I suggest you watch the video tutorial which is at the end of this post.
For the “galaxy”, I used pinks, purples, blues, and black. After the galaxy watercolor dried, I removed the mask and noticed that it left behind a yellow tint. To cover this up, I mixed black and pearly white watercolor (Gansai Tambi) to make a light Moon Gray shade and added it around my galaxy circle.
I also added white paint splatters to the background to make my “stars”.
Next, I stamped the image from the Ramadan Greetings Stamp Set with Clear Embossing Ink and then embossed it with Antique Gold Crisp Embossing Powder. Then I added gold splatters from Metallic Ink Spray in Antique Gold.
After embossing the image, I colored the image with dark purple watercolor to make it stand out. I think this technique would look lovely with floral stamps as well. You should definitely give it a try.
I added very fine black paint splatters then stamped and heat embossed the sentiments with Clear Embossing Powder.
In the end, I also added a few diluted purple paint splatters to balance my galaxy background so that it doesn't look very harsh against the white and blends nicely.
