5 Easy Steps to Create an Impactful Card

Hello Altenew friends! It's Virginia here. Have you created and sent out cards lately? A few days ago, I donated a shoe-box full of my handmade cards to my father-in-law's retirement home. Since all retirement homes and long-term care facilities are under “no visitor” restrictions in Canada, I know my cards will make the receivers smile and lift their spirit. The time and effort are absolutely worthwhile. Today's bright and cheerful card is perfect for someone special. The Fabulous Florets Stamp Set  is used for my example.

I have listed 5 steps on how to achieve the fab result effortlessly.

Step 1 Create your own colorful paper:

To start, apply Watercolor Brush Makers on Altenew Watercolor Paper. You can use any color (soft or bold) of your choice and apply liberally. Let dry overnight or use a heat tool to dry.

Step 2 Add Textures  (optional):  Trim the paper and place Dotted Starburst Debossing Cover Die face down onto the color paper. Then, run it though the Mini Blossom or any die cut machine.

Step 3: Stamp the outline and die cut with Fabulous Florets Dies. You can fussy cut out the florets if you wish to.

Step 4: Stamp the background with one of the layering images. With MISTI in place, I stamped the background to coordinate colors (Sunray, Chamomile, Fresh Leaf and Heart Beat) with the flowers.

Step 5 Finishing touches:  stamp the sentiment in Obsidian Pigment Ink and embellish with glitter.

I hope these 5 easy steps inspire you to get your supplies out and get creative! Your receivers will be thrilled to get something handmade with a great impact. Thank you for stopping by!
